Default Replacing head gasket - what mods should I do?

I bought this car with the head off, the timing belt wiped out, and every valve bent. If I want to have a little fun, thats not too expensive, what modifications should I consider whenputting this thing back together? Also, aftermarket valves are alot cheaper than Audi parts - why?

All depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you dont plan on passing 350whp, keep it stock.

How about not more than 250 whp to keep stock. I am sure he wants to drive it tens of thousands on it

I think that you should have the head flowed and port and polish everything. That will make it live a little

You dont know what head he is using nor power level. A stock AEB head doesnt really need a port job and he wont see real gains porting a small port to big port on a sub 300whp car.

more blunt. A low hp car (350bhp or less) will not see the same gains from a port&polish as a 400+ bhp car. You are going to spend to much money for a true port job w/ valve job for only a tiny gain on the low hp car and not very noticeable on a stock car.

I cant stress enough that not knowing what he has or plans you CAN NOT recommend work/parts.

The car is currently totally stock. My goal for the car is to do it safe, right, and if I can add a trick or two to make it a little more fun, then that would be very good. So, a little more fun than stock if there is a trick or two that I can do that wont cost too much...I know...whats too much..not real sure on that one.
