Replacing seat
What do you mean by "do anything special" ? Are you just tryin to get the old seat out w/o the airbag goin off in your face? Or do ya mean "special" as in getting the new seat to fit in the stock location?
Is the seat adjusted manually?
I dont think there is anything "special" to do besides keeping the car turned off. I took my manual seat out to fix the heating element. Should just be a couple of electrical connections underneath, a stop pin upfront, and plastic pieces on the far end of the rail.

I bought just one seat because my driver seat is torn to ****. This seat matches my interior perfectly its not ricey. I was just making sure the airbag doesnt go off in my face when removing.
I think all you need to do then is make sure the car is off, and CAREFULLY unplug the connectors under the seat. I'm told they're kinda tempermental so be really nice to them. After that, should be safe.
ANYTIME you mess with an airbag connector, do two things. First disconnect the battery. Second, before you touch the connector, ground yourself for several seconds by touching the frame of the car. This will help to discharge static electricity that, in some instances, could detonate the bag. Even better would be to get a grounding strap and cord at an electronics shop so that you're grounded the whole time you mess with it. It may seem like overkill, and it probably is, but you'll wish you did it if the bag blows. Don't f*ck around when it comes to airbags.
