Wink Right upper control arm...should I?

so my right upper control arm and bushing is getting old and has play. im planning on getting it replaced but

should i:

A) just replace the right control arm and bushing

B) replace my entire front suspension(left/right upper and lower control arms and bushings , tie rods etc..) since labor wise it would be smarter to do so since im letting my mechanic do it

HINT: i will not do it myself because suspension wise i don't feel comfortable enough to do so. only suspension i have ever messed with was the one my deen gave me in high school.

just wanted to know because my A4 2.8l has about 70k miles on it and i might as well do it right?

Yup do all of them. One is gone so more won't be far behind. And seriously DIY - it's very straightforward.

Agreed... you really can't go wrong. The hardest part is possibly a seized bolt with will be a PITA, but otherwise a walk in the park... then get an alignment, and you're good to go.

this is true, I just got done with my lower control arms, TRE, and struts, and that was the hardest part a single seized bolt.

Southern California and only 70K miles? I doubt you'll have a seized bolt, that thing will pratically take itself apart. I'm surprised that they're even going bad at that mileage.

You will only need a weekend... if it takes all summer, you shouldn't own an Audi

Yeah dude suspension work is pretty much the simplest maintenance, all you need is the tools and a little patience. You'll definitely save a lot of money this way. Ecs tuning has deals on lower control arm packages right now btw.

Hello there, I'll give you some prices on those control arms. These are OEM with bushings but not the hardware. I can add that later if you are interested. The uppers are all 99.00 each for left and rights. You'd need 4 at that price. The 2 lower fronts are 161.25 each, and the 2 lower rears are 176.25 each. If I don't have them in stock I can get them in a couple of days. I'd need your vin to double check that part numbers but I was going off a non sport suspension vehicle, non S4.

Any questions please ask, thank you. Jeff. On quote 80544, if you call in this will help us answer questions a bit faster.
