Default right way to disconnect battery?

so i just got my car back from the shop getting the throttle body recalibrated. it got misaligned the last time i disconnected the battery. so my question is why did this happen this one and only time, ive disconnected the battery countless times and have never had a problem.

could it have happened because i disconnected it with the key off, and then reconnected it with the key turned on? thats the only thing i can think of...

im just scared to disconnect the battery again.

Pull negative first and plug negative last. Never leave your key on either way.

i believe the negative first thing is primarily a safety concern to prevent arc.

Or to prevent turning yourself into a human fuse...

Just make sure that when you do disconnect the batter, always turn your key on for 30 seconds after you reconnect the battery. This allows the ecu to do a throttle adapt and store that info.

You know you can do a Throttle Body Adaptation, correct?

1) Push the gas pedal all the way to the floor
2) Turn ignition on for 20-30 seconds (do not start)
3) Turn ignition off, release gas pedal
4) Start car and go for a spin

NEVER ever press the gas pedal while doing a throttle adapt.
