Yeah they will probably total it but at least you will have some money to put toward your new car. If they do total it you can usually buy it back for almost nothing and make a good amount of money selling parts, then junk the rest. If you do go this route let me know becuse like I said before I would really be interested in a few parts. BTW what color is the car because I am only an hour away from you so it would be worth the trip if you do part it out?

they may not cover you since you have a cone filter....try to toss your airbox back on before the adjuster sees it....

seriously. the adjusters sole job is to find a way not to pay you, its how they make their money. the will tell you "your aftermarket parts caused damage to the engine by bypassing the factory system to keep water out of the intake. aftermarket parts are not covered on this policy. you are SOL."

They people that have my car aren't allowing me to swap any parts while they are holding it for me. I guess I'll see what happens...

And my car color is europa blue mica (dark blue/purplish).

I agree, it could mean the difference between a $4000ish settlement check and nothing.

I agree too. Tow it to your place, change the filter, don't risk $4000...

Go to your local dealer, find a new car, tell them you have a trade in but not with you, get them to give you a trade in value and use as down payment, have the car towed the night you sign papers-now its their problem....

If you part it out, I will buy floor mats if you have them and any interior trim(A pillar,B pillar, C pillar top and bottom for stereo project...

I'll see what I can do... But right now my car is locked up somewhere that's closed weekends. The adjuster should be there Monday or Tuesday. I would want to part it out, but I'm not sure if I have room to. Thanks again for the help I'll keep this updated.
