Wow, a spark plug broke and dropped into the cylinder? That's usually from detonation or using plugs that are the wrong application.

Before yanking the engine, pull the head. Check the valves before condemning the entire engine.

I see "injectors" listed in your mods... But you have a GIAC k03 chip??? Explain that, not that it has anything to do with whats going on.

Or does it... wrong injectors can lead to poor A/F ratios...

What part of the plug broke off? It shouldn't do that even if it were detonating, you might be able to sue the damn spark plug company for poor worksmanship. Couldn't hurt if you need major engine work.

ah something broke... lets sue the person who made it!

at most you would be awarded a new spark plug or refunded the costs of that spark plug. maybe they will even give you a whole new set of plugs!

you have no idea if the plugs had been replaced 2k miles before you purchased the car or if they had been in there for the last 60k miles. not the spark plug mfg. fault and that is exactly the point they would bring up in court. you have no way to prove they were replaced at regular recomended intervals.

the head of the plug can and does break off under high heat/wrong heat range or extended use or vibration/detonation. it sucks that it happened but this is an example of why you need to change your spark plugs regularly.

now while you got your engine apart build the internals so you have a smile on your face when its all done.

they are extraordinarily hard to break. they can withstand thousands of explosions every minuit and extreme heat which is a feat of engineering if you think about it.

only plug problem ive ever seen was a hilarious one, a ford excursion came into the shop (behind a towtruck) that i worked at for a brief period of time with 2 holes in the hood like it had been shot, except from the inside. the plugs stripped their threads and launched out with enough force to pierce two layers of sheetmetal. the guy was scared shitless. $4k later he asked "so its fixed right?" and the shop manager replied "yea untill the new plugs do it again"

i love my audi.
