Yesterday as the wife was driving and I was riding shotgun (not allowed to drive right now with the condition of my foot) I noticed a sweet A4 at the dealership. So, today while I was out I made her stop so I could look at it. Beautiful 06 2.0T 6 speed. God, I fell in love on the spot. Of course, a sales rep was on me before I could hobble out of the car with my crutches, and immediately I could tell I knew more about the car than he did ("Yeah, it's a 5 speed").

He asked if I wanted to take it for a test drive, but alas, still can't drive. He quoted me 18,500. Kinda steep for me, but I guess I could talk him down to maybe 16K. The wife is totally on board!

I was just checking autotrader.com and found out: IT'S NOT QUATTRO!!!

I guess my search will just have to continue. I have until summer to decide what to do, afterall, I'll be back in Iraq before the temp tags even run out.

But, I'm still going for a test drive as soon as my foot can handle it, and if I'm lucky, the sales rep won't be riding!!!

 

It's such a turn off when I hear an Audi doesn't have quattro. That's what makes these cars. Sure if it's FWD it'd be a nice looking car, but the performance is greatly hindered and it's not as special .

 

Exactly my point... Like it says in someone's sig here (sorry, I can't remember who). If it's not quattro, it's just a VW!

Worse part is, they still sucker someone into paying 18Gs for that car...

 

That's why it's best to know at least a little bit about the car you're looking at ha. Good thing you double checked!
