I have the weirdest problem here...I will try to explain it the best I can.

I have an 98 A4 1.8T - the rpm needle on the dash has been erratically jumping all over the place. While yjis is happening there is no change in engine rev. this issues goes away after 20min of driving. Lately this has been coupled with the oil pressure gauge ramdomly going off - Dip stick check shows I have oil & I have no oil leak. The the oil pressure alert also goes away in a few minutes.

Anyone have experience with this ? Could it be a bad sensor somewhere ? One mechanic says it could be a faulty instrument cluster
