Hey guys, I have the opportunity to scavenge an Imola S4, pretty much any part is available for my *ahem* consumption. I have a 1998 B5 A4 1.8TQM and am wondering what parts from the S4 I can transfer to my baby. I'm thinking about starting with the motor mounts and maybe trying to grab a turbo or two for backups. The car [B]was[B involved in a T-bone collision on the passenger side, so I'm hoping that the side skirts are still available. Anybody have any ideas as to S4-to-A4 parts compatibility? I really wanna get the front seats out (the side airbags didn't deploy ) and am looking specifically at suspension and maybe exterior aero (side mirrors and front bumper).

 

Are both Quattro?

 

Take everything u can! I believe the suspension should be interchangeable and u should definitely take the front brake setup off for ur car too, oh and the s4 bumper only fits my car so send it this way, lol. But yeah it should be compatible.

 

Well if they aren't both Quattro the suspension won't be looks like his is don't know if the S4 is

 

all s4's are quattro, and his a4 is quattro too. bcause your car, op, is a pre-facelift, some parts arent not interchangable. essentially, all parts can be used on your a4 with some modifcation. you mentioned the turbos. the exhaust and intake housings for s4 turbos are different from a4's. youd need the proper housings to use the center sections on your car. people often run s4 seats as well in their a4's. problem with that is s4 seats are power. yours are not. what are some specific parts you want o change over?

 

Ahh okay I didn't know ALL s4's were quattros.

 

all s and rs models are quattro standard. as far as i know, audi only offered front wheel drive on tt's, a3's, and a4's. not sure about a6's, but i think they are only awd.

 

I'm really just looking for any suspension components, brake system components, turbo system components, exterior aero (bumpers, side skirts, mirrors, etc...), and the front seats. Basically, if you know with 90% certainty (100% is always better but I'm handy with a hammer lol) it fits a 1998 pre-facelift A4, I want it. Especially the exterior aero, as I'm toying with the idea of a MK1-style harlequin look (say what you will about that). Any input is greatly appreciated!!!

 

Haha, I would think about the front bumper but I've got some plans to put it on Audrey. Some nice yellow teeth until I can get her painted lol

 

Get the sway bars but you won't want to use the struts and springs. Your car is quite a bit lighter than the S4 and it'll get lifted up by the front springs.
