Talking S4 Front Bumper for 99.5 B5

Hi all,

Well next week my car is going to the body shop to finally replace the hood and front bumper. I was quoted repairs that would involve getting a stock 99.5 A4 front bumper cover (since the actual bar is good) with the washer holes & fog mounts. Since I am replacing the front bumper I thought I might as well go with a S4 bumper. Does anyone know what year S4 front bumpers would fit my car? I'm guessing 2000-2002? Also, do you think any modifications will need to be done to line up the fenders? What about the fogs - are they different from the regular 99.5 fogs? I've seen pictures of the S4 front bumpers and the fogs seem to take up less space leaving me to believe the S4 fogs are different than A4 fogs. Maybe the S4 fog mounts are larger and that's why it appears they take up less space. I basically want the least modifications done to make it fit, pretty much "plug and play". Could you guys post up pics of your S4 front bumpers? Thanks in advance.

s4 bumper is usually a direct fit, and i think the facelift fogs will fit in the bumper grills im not sure.

not to go too off topic, what exhaust is that?

Fogs are different between the A4 and S4.

^S4 fogs compared to the (full) circle A4 fogs.

Here's a pic of A4 fogs. the mounting looks very similar but i couldn't tell you exactly. you could try it and if it doesn't fit, just make a bracket to fit them lol

Replacing the bumper skin is not a good way to repair the bumper. A4 bumpers are bonded to the crash bar and poor fit usually results from swapping the skin and not the bumper as an assembly. A new A4 B5 bumper should run about $500 from Audi, a new S4 bumper $650 plus grills and fogs. Replacing the skin will involve zip-ties and pop-rivets in place of the plastic rivets and bonds. Like I said, it can look like doo-doo and the gaps may be uneven.

If you have ruined your bumper, insist the body shop replaces it as an assembly. If they are a certified Audi shop, they should know this. If they say otherwise, I'd recommend finding an Audi certified or recommended body shop.

Last, a 2000-2002 will fit a face-lifted A4 99.5; it's a direct-fit with no modifications other than new fogs and grills.

So would this be the same for the rear bumper? Does it need to be replaced as an assembly also?
