Default S4 Rear Upright to prefacelift A4?

Wondering if any of you guys know if I can bolt up a rear upright off of a 2001 S4 to my pre-face A4. I believe the only thing that may be different is the ABS wheel speed sensor. My prefacelift one just pushes in and the S4 is bolt on. Thinking I can just slip my existing sensor in the hole and be fine but I'd like to see if anyone out there knows for sure.

Thanks!

So long as your car is Quattro (which it appears that it is) it looks like they should bolt up. Wheel bearings are the same size (75mm) and the only difference in rear axles between A4 and S4 are in the inner CV joints.

I have to ask why though? If you're trying to upgrade the rear brakes, S4 rear brakes will bolt on to A4 rear spindles.

Default Bad bearing and bushing

Thanks Base...reason is that when I did the rear bearing last summer I had to cut out the lower bolt and in doing so destroyed the lower bushing. Now, of course, the bearing is howling again which I attributed to the spindle not sitting true. Instead of pulling the old one, bringing it to my buddy's shop and waiting for a day or so for him to press the new bearing in again and replace the lower bushings, I'd rather just bolt up a known good one and I'm on my way

A seller I trust is offering me one complete for a good price.

I figure I'm probably in for another ebay abs wheel sensor as well cause the last one I did, I ended up drilling it out to get the damn thing free....

New England is tough on cars...

I think that the ABS sensor mounting is different facelift vs. pre-facelift. The facelift sensor will have a single bolt mounting, while, I believe that the pre-facelift uses a push in style mount.

^Can confirm that prefacelift are push in, no bolt.

Im hoping that the diameter of both are the same so I can use my push in style in the s4 upright.

The hole is the same diameter, but it does not have the shoulder to stop you from pushing it in too far. You'll also need the metal band that causes the friction fit.

This is the info I was looking for. Thanks a ton! I can fabricate something to keep it from falling through and it should be ok.
