Default safe limit of the stock crank?

I have an Evo consuming build in mind with forged Eagle rods and forged slugs (dunno which yet) but I am wondering what are the safe limits of the motor and trans? I'm really considering 400+ awhp but don't want my car to crap out after spending that type of coin.

Its a 1999.5 1.8t 5speed Quattro.

Also what are some other weekness's?

Crank is fine for 400+, the rods would be your main concern. Depending on your turbo setup, you'll need to build the head. Is this that K04 hybrid turbo from your other thread? What's your planned redline?

should handle 400

using coated rod and main bearings will greatly increase overall reliability.

I ceramic coat just about everything. I'm going with eagle rods and supertech pistons but I am debating the 2.0 crank. I'm wondering how the 20v head will like it though as well as the stock cams as cams are proportional to displacement.

The k04 I have planned is just something I want to try and see what it can do. I plan on using it while I build a separate blockfor this setup. I plan on using with gtx28630 or 67 or a efr 67.

If you get your hands on an efr then I'm gonna be so jealous...

I've never heard of the stock crank being a breaking point. A member on audizine is putting down 450awhp on stock displacement and stock cams, just for reference.

The cams are actually surprising when I saw their specs but when you increase displacement you typically increase cams to accommodate.

The efr is nice especially considering the balanced gamma ti shaft but the gtx is really nice with making more from less. I'm dying see a back to back of them being compared.

If you're going to go 2L you'll prolly want a built head anyway so you can rev above 6500rpm without fragging the valve train.

What's the safe limit of the 1.8t head? Can it not be revved past 6500? I was hoping of building a setup that was fat in the 3500-7500 range.
