Default sai pump ?

so what does this system do? i know they go bad alot and mine will just stay running when i shut my car off and then sometimes itll pulse like every 30 secs with the car off. so this morning i woke up to a dead battery got pisssed and disconnected the electrical connection to the pump. i have apr stg 2 with a test pipe so i dont think ill run into any check engine lights or anything right? any input? thanks. it wouldnt stay running with the car off all the time just when its really cold out like in the am or at night.

the secondary air intake pump is used to improve emissions on cold starts. Mike Hood sells a kit to eliminate it, along with most of the rest of the PCV system. I think you should be fine with it unplugged.

You'll run fine without it, but you will get two CEL codes - one for system failure and one for some incorrect airflow reading. The SAI delete kit involves a blockoff plate and a resistor and will eliminate one of those codes, but the other will remain and you'll have a CEL that will fail you at inspection if you have any sort of emissions test (like we do here in NY, involving an ECU fault code scan). Since the SAI system is emissions-related, a failure in that system will fail the car at inspection.

Maryland is cool for inspections...since my car is too low to pull into the bay, I just get a 2 year extension. Sweet.

lol VA isn't bad either. every-other-year emissions inspections, but the gas station i go to doesn't have the right gear for it so they just sticker me anyway

As far as your SAI staying on after your car is off, it would have to be a bad sticky relay(from what i can recall reading at an older thread)
