Smile secondary air injector pump

Hello Guys!
Happy holidays to you all!

I have an issue that when I turned my engine off still the whinny sound comes from the passenger side under the air filter that drained my battery over night.
I researched that the sound might be the secondary air injector pump.

some of the guys say that the Secondary air injector pump is not necessary to have unless i do care about the engine light.

does anyone know that if I disconnect the SAI it will hurt my car?

What I've been doing is that I disconnect the battery at night and connect the battery in the morning.
disconnect and connect everyday will it hurt my car?

Please let me know Thank you guys.

I removed my SAI pump a few weeks ago and haven't had any issues. You'll get a CEL but it can be fixed without too much trouble

Yeah just unplug it. You'll get a CEL and one or two codes but it's better than draining your battery every night.

Doesn't hurt the car really, but it's definitely a pain in the ***. The mileage in the odometer is stored in the gauge cluster and won't be affected by the battery being unplugged. Why not just unplug the pump and forget about it?

yes, you can put a 1 ohm 10 watt resistor in the connector and you wont get the cel.

unplugging the battery does affect the car. it resets the readiness modules, so if per say you you unplugged the car and went to take it in the next day for emissions and inspection, you will fail emissions and be told to drive the car around for a few miles and bring it back.

also unplugging the battery resets fuel trim adaptations. so the ecu will keep having to relearn your driving habits. thus may hurt fuel economy.

youll only solve 1 code with the resistor. Youll get two codes when you unplug the pump 1 for it being unplugged and 1 for it not doing what its supposed to aka - incorrect flow code. You need a chip to solve that.

Leaving the battery unplugged long enough can throw off the throttle body alignment setting. The car will idle badly if this happens.
