Seemed like a damn good deal to me:)
So after a lot of flip-flopping on what wheels to get, since I sold my 18" Flik Wasps to AF member tware4021, I was browsing VW Vortex in the wheel forum and came across these. I have never run wheels this size before, but at the price, and due to the fact that I had shopped these in the past and decided not to buy based on the price, I jumped at the chance.
I went to Connecticut yesterday afternoon and traded this:

For these:

They're TSW Volcano wheels, in 19"x8", hyper black, running Falken FK452 tires in a 235-35ZR19 size. The wheels and tires are only a few months and a couple thousand miles old. The prior owner had them on his GTI, but then upgraded his front brakes to Porsche Cayenne brakes, which are so massive that not only would they not clear the calipers, but I think he's at risk of blowing his airbags in a full-on panic stop.
I can't wait to get them on the car, but for now they have to sit, since our weather sucks and a Z-rated tire isn't ideal for the snow/ice/cold we have right now. I'm gonna test-fit them on one side this weekend though, to see if spacers are needed or not, and I'll post up pics of that as well, to give an impression on how they'll look on the car (note that coilover adjustments will be made as needed to position the body correctly over the wheels).
Anyhow, that's my score of the season - from www.wheelsnext.com this would be a nearly-$1800 package, which I scored for the above shown $700. Needless to say, I'm thrilled about it and can't wait for spring so I can throw these babies on

JEALOUS!!!!!
that's definitely a good buy....I've been shopping around as well, but nothing is catching my eye.
Sucks that you have to wait.....I know if you are anything like me, it's all you are going to think about every time you get into your car.
I can't wait to have the new rims on, I can't wait to have the new rims on...
