euro_2nr - How you been man! Welcome back.

aledelic - How much are you looking to get for those Merc wheels? I have a buddy with an MK4 who might be interested. What's the offset on them?

Hey Devil, slightly off topic but your post about rubbing made me think about this. I've got some 18x8.5" wheels, with 35 offset. I'm stock non sport suspension now, but I'm worried about rubbing when I do go low. What tire size should I run? Aledelic was thinking 215/40 but I know the 8.5 widths on the Allroad are 245. Stretching would be cool for the look, but I dont want to overstretch.

my mercedes wheels for now are $550 + shipping. 17x8.5 et38

stretching depends on the style of the tire a lot.

for example, here's a 215/40 falken on 8.5"

and here's a 215/40 kumho on 8.5"

215/40 sounds good to me. my wheels are 18x8 38mm with 225/40 and i'm sitting on HnR racing springs. no rubbing at all. my tires have no stretch at all but if i went 215/40 it would stretch slightly so you would be stretching a little but it shouldn't be too crazy. bridgestone 050 tires would def work because they have a slight stretchiness to them. khumo and nexen wouldn't work because their sidewalls are more vertical.

Nice looking wheels but I can't stand such low profile tires, personally
