She's a needy girl...
In the past two months that I've owned her I have..
Replaced timing belt, tensioner, water pump, etc
Replaced (most of) the vacuum system with silicone hose
Replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires
Removed the worst sound system ever - no speakers currently in her
Fixed an exhaust leak - old straight pipe blew off, sounded like a lawnmower
Full oil change
Replaced front left tie rod end - steering feels strange now, need to revisit
and am soon to...
Replace front left and right lower, upper control arms, sway bar links, and revisit tie rod ends - i'll be doing this tomorrow, the suspension is so shot. as I mentioned I changed out one of them today and after driving it a bit it feels almost too tight. probably will get an alignment after all this.
Replace front left CV joint and boot - boot seems to have been torn for a while, no grease, clicking + vibration on tighter turns.
Replace automatic transmission fluid - first step in attempting to fix 200-300rpm slippage and knock/kick when heading into 3rd gear.
Replace front left brake hoses - cracked, leaking for who knows how long.
Somehow fix high + rough idle - the lowest it'll go is 1k and will hover strangely between 1k-1,3k. Replaced what vacuum lines I could manage, might be missing a leak. She idles the same with or without the MAF plugged in.
Coolant flush - previous owner put some green non G12, doesn't overheat but I don't want trouble.
Fix rim rash + paint rims - previous owner loved curbs.
Fix hazard relay
Today I removed, cleaned, sanded (250, 600, 1500 grit), cleaned, primed and painted my wheel caps prior to painting the rims:
The chrome pops right out on the big rings, but can be troublesome with the rings emblems which came out with some physical coaxing.
She and I have a long day tomorrow, just wanted to share
