I seem to have a lot of shifter play/slop in the new (used) shift box I installed when I did my tranny swap. I really can remember if what I feel is normal or not. Has anyone addressed this issue? The search didn't find anything. TIA

 

do you still have the stock shifter linkage, the plastic ball and cup part right under the shift boot? that doesnt hold up well over decades of use, the plastic wears down and gets loose. i highly recommend a JHM shift kit, its one of the best investments ive ever made. shifting is so smooth now.
