I just bought a giac chip but need someone to solder it in. Anyone know of a shop or place in the albany area that could do this for me?

 

I'm not sure about that, but there's a place here in Binghamton called Unicorn Electronics that has an outside guy who does very good work of that sort (he did ECU solder jobs for some friends of mine, including socketing the board so the chip would just plug in and be interchangeable, for around $30). I know it's two hours from where you are, but if you're down for a road trip, I can get you his number, and if you set it up, you could buzz down and have the work done by him. I can put you up for a night and maybe we can get some local Audi guys together for beers and tech/detailing. I've already got one such arrangement set up with another AFer tentatively for next month, and it should be cool.
