i don't see why it makes such a big deal of where the money comes from. times are tough, and for a 16 year old to make enough money to buy a 4+ grand car on their own would be pretty difficult. not gonna argue over it though. everybody has their opinions. if you want to hate on 16 year olds with nice cars, go for it.

if you plan on modding an S4, have fun with paying for the upgraded parts haha.

That's not the case, the original poster of this thread, said his parents will pay for any car he wants,he's not paying nothing, the other kid in this post, said he payed half and his parents paid the other half.

If my parents would have been able to buy me a car, I sure as hell would have taken it But I get what people are saying...no matter how responsible you are or mature for your age, there is something to be said for buying a couple thousand dollar machine on your own. You will appreciate it much more. Not talking smack, but it's the truth. I was 18 when I got my first car and it was a 1977 Chrysler Lebarron (this was in 2004) That car was a freakin' boat but it ran well and it did what I needed it to do. I found it in the paper and used my money I saved from mowing lawns and doing part-time jobs to scrape up the 1000 bucks. I loved that car cause it was mine, ya know? Plus, it made me appreciate my Jetta (second car) that much more and my A4 (third car) like you wouldn't believe. Feels good to work real hard for something that you really want. Like I said, not talking smack, just talking from experience.

Don't get an auto. I don't know what auto (safety) means, as I think manual cars have more safety than anything.

Also, I don't believe that you need a cheap crappy car to appreciate it. If you can get a nice car, get it. It honestly comes down to self control on the S4. I had a friend with one who wasn't smart with it and totalled it while driving drunk. He also got tickets 24/7. If you drive it smart I don't see any problems with it.

Maintenance is huge with the 2.7T, tell your parents that up front so they are ready to drop a few thousand on repairs when you get it.

Well i actully downgraded sometime's lol i went form a 95 GST to a 1989 integra 2 door and then to a 01 truck(My dad's) then to a 240sx 1991 i think and then My baby which is now my pride and joy my silver A4

^sorry for the thread jack

But you should get a basic A4(QUATTRO) since you have the money try and find one that has low mile's and put's some part's on it like a DV buy your self a nice Little boost gauge kit form APR,ESC or R.A.I Motorsport's(wher i got mine) then move on to your ECU tune from who ever you want and then take it from there it's your choice bigger turbo, internals hell go kill giraffes and put their skin in your car. Mod the car how you want it and to your taste then see if you want to move up from there

+1......this thread would have been fine without the "my parents are rich and buy me what I want" quotient.

That being said, as long as you are burning your parents money, RESPECT the car they buy you. I know first-hand here in North NJ, there are many rich parents with money to burn for their teenagers. The majority of them are already on their second car......give you a guess why.

Yeah, they wrecked their first.

In my opinion, go for the S4. If you find that you can drive it, not wreck it with-in a week, or get it impounded, then enjoy the fruits of your parents labor. If you cannot do any of the above, then get the A4.

I was waiting for a post like this sooner or later, and to be honest I really don't know what to say. I didn't want to come as some arrogant ***** when I said that my parents are rich and get me whatever, I just included that to give you guys a better idea of the financial aspect involved. Believe me I'd be willing to go get a job at Kroger or something, but that's a different discussion and here isn't the place for it.

When I saw the words 'bi-turbo' I sorta got the feeling that '01 S4's probably aren't the safest of cars haha.

I can afford (actually my parents) pretty much any car I would want to have
If this is true, why would you want a 10 year old car w/100k miles that will likely require a significant amount of money (from your parents) for long-term upkeep?

Invest your parents money the right way!

If I was very wealthy, and had a 16 yr old, THIS is what they would be driving if I had anything to do with it, and if they were lucky.
