Default Smallest wheel size and other noob questions

Hello everyone, I just bought a 96 A4 QM last night and I am really enjoying it already. My question is that I have a set of brand new Michelin snow tires that I was planning on putting on my Prelude this winter. Now that I have the A4 it will be used all winter and I would love to be able to put the snow tires on her but they are 14 inchers. It certainly doesnt appear that I can put 14 inch rims on the Audi put I figured that I would ask.
Also since I have you here, my clutch grabs really late and the person that I bought it from said that it has been that way since he bought it with 20,000 miles on it and his mechanic said that the clutch is fine. Is this normal? The car also seems to take all day to get into higher RPM's which is making it feel quite slow, is that normal? Everything else is great on the car and I hope to enjoy it for years to come. Thanks!

High clutch engagement is normal. It being slow is normal too. Idk about the 14" wheels. Thats a new one. Check out the newbie guide sticky.

Yep, clutch sounds normal. You'll get used to it after a while - I like how easy it is to make nice, smooth shifts with this clutch. As for the slow; yeah, that's kind of a fact of life with the 12v 2.8 - and there really is nothing you can do about it. But it's reliable as a rock and it'll take care of you as long as you take care of it! For the RPMs, torque peaks at 3200 and you're really not going to get much more out of it, so unless you're trying to show off just how slow the car really is, there's no need to wait any later than 3000RPM or so to shift.

Welcome to the forums, and welcome to owning an Audi! You should post some pics ASAP!

Thank you Tweaked, I guess I will have to try to sell them.

I know that the torque peaks at 3200 but I like getting it a little past there so the RPMs dont drop out of the powerband when I shift, she really feels like she falls on her face 1st - 2nd unless I get it up in RPMs. I will definitely post pictures when I stop driving it

Oh yeah and the keyless entry doesnt work, I tried changing the batteries, is there a common problem that I should look for as the culprit?

Do you hear the motor trying to work when you press the unlock button?

arent honda wheels 4 lug studs anyways? audi not only have 5 but they are lug bolts.

as for the keyless entry thing, theres a way to reprogram your remote to work with your car, i cant find a link to it but its something like this... (it requires a spare key to your car)

you take the spare key and put it in the ignition and turn it on (not start the car)

roll down a window just in case you get locked out.

now step outside close the dor and put your remote key in the door and lock then unlock the door.

thats all i remember, there might be another step or two. you can just call a dealer and ask they can probably tell you over the phone, if that is infact the problem.

Yeah Hondas are 4 lug studs but I have not gotten the tires mounted to rims yet so it would not have been a problem. I will definitely look into trying that reprogramming, thank you.
