Hi there, I am new to this forum. I live in New Zealand and recently bought a 1997 A4 1.8T quattro (with the MTM stage 4 kit installed from new). Car done about 143K. The problem i have is the car is blowing blue smoke.
Symptoms:
Will blow a moderate amount of blue smoke under boost.
Will blow smoke after i turn the car of (leave it for about 10-20 min) and then start car again and leave it idle (enough smoke to cause concern).
Can smell a small amount of burning old at idle or sitting at the lights (however not visible).

The turbo was rebuilt about a month or so ago.
Car does not blow blue smoke on cold start up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

 

I have read in this forum that a PCV valve failure will also cause symthoms similar to the ones i am experiencing. Any one know where this is located on the 1.8T engine? Pic would also be very helpful.
