I managed to replace the batteries in my remote and 1-key program it....

F***ked up my trim piece trying to replace the radio tho.

Any idea where I can buy the brown piece I drew in the pic that sorrounds the radio? I was told by a audio shop if I got it off I could take off 2 screws and take the radio out. NOPE! Its still stuck in there. They tried the special tool at audio shop but said it was screwed up from someone putting some tool in there.

So If the screws dont work and special tool doesnt work what do I do to get it out?

Its been a huge PITA and now I need to replace the trim thanks to the bad advice from the audio shop.

How do I get it out? its 99 a4.

Where can I buy the piece in brown below?

EDIT: Not going to worry about replaceing the piece, sine its not too terrible when reassembled. Just going to glue a part back on and use the one I had.

Thanks !!

Dan

No Audi at the junkyard, checked today. Was a computer error. Where can I get parts for my 99 Audi a4?? I can't seem to find any site that carries anything useful. Do I have to use the stealership ??? I would prefer not to as I am a college student.

Thanks.

Shokan Coachworks, Audi parts 1-800-All-Audi for misc used parts
ecstuning.com for a new radio if needed. they should be on sale for very cheap around $30 i believe. they also have a lot of other new parts for sale, very good store.
also search classifieds on here, vwvortex and audizine for part outs.

Google search Force Five Auto. They are the same as Shokan as they recycle Audis and Vee Dubs, but are not nearly as large. They are however a little more reasonable with pricing.

96'S are odd beasts, lots of one year only control modules in them that don't work in other cars, and vic versa, things like HVAC controllers, ABS controllers, etc are specific to the 96 model year and won't work in other years, neither will the later years stuff work in the 96's. All or most of the suspension components are the same, most of the body components are the same until you get to mid 2000 A4's, however front fenders are different because of a side marker shape change somewhere around 98 (round vs elongated ovals).

Lol I don't mean to be a d-bag but why'd you go to all the trouble of drawing a picture instead of just taking one?
