What does it mean when the oil light randomly flashes, no noise, no solid light. then turns off for awile. Then will randomly go on again flashing then off again for awile. ect. I know it means no pressure but someone also said it is just a change ur oil reminder.. anyone know?

Flashing red oil can light is low oil pressure. Youll want to hook up an oil pressure gauge to get an actual reading on the oil pressure, the switch is known for failing; not so much sludge on the v6 but its a problem for the 4..

 

Thanks, any idea on a part number for that *switch* you mention? Or a name?

 

Its either called the oil pressure switch or oil pressure sender, not sure about the part number.
