Default So I have been looking at boost gauges/pods

I have read A LOT of posts about boost gauges and pods... but I haven't seen very many about the cheap column mount pod that comes with the vdo gauge. I have seen it for sale on ebay, ecstuning, and namotorsports/new south. I am liking the price of this one, but I could only find 1 side photo of it installed (doesn't look that great, but I could deal with it for the price) and 1 person that said not to get it because he couldn't get it to fit.

Anybody have any more info on this?? How does it stay on the column?

My other options of course are:
Getting the podi column pod or modifying my vent for the gauge (not interested in buying a vent pod), but if enough people can say that the cheaper one works well then I might end up going that route.

As far as gauges go, I am having a hard time deciding between the VDO and the Glowshift..... OR, anything else I should look into in that <$50 range?

make sure the column doesnt have an airbag, or the airbag is disabled if you choose that mounting option. The driver side vent is popular becuase it is a clean, "stealthy" stock looking mod.

column, not pillar
I don't want the pillar pods, the column pod sits right between the steering wheel and the instrument cluster.....

Didn't think I would like my vent gauge as much as I do.... Easy and saves a small amount of $$, and... looks good imo. Glow shift has been a cheap, good supplier for a couple gauges I have bought through the years with them. GL

Check it this company puts out very nice bezels with built in pods. I hade one custom made for civic and I couldnt have been happier when I seen it installed. Check it out contact them, bounce an idea off em and they will make it.

The quad-pod website looks cool, but they are honda-acura...... also says that if the car isn't on the list, they don't make it and they don't do custom pods unless there was a group buy incentive. Thanks though!

2fast4u66: I am kind of leaning towards the vent idea now... but I still like the column pod a lot. I am glad to hear that the glowshift has worked out for you, I wasn't sure about the quality since they are pretty cheap.
