Default some questions about a '00 a4

hey guys i found a 2000 audi a4 1.8t quattro that someone is insterested in trading. It has 144,xxx miles with the stock turbo. The guy says it needs a valve gasket and that the thermostat water pump and timing belt were all changed roughly 15k or so miles ago. My main concern is what should i be on the look out for when i go to check it out? Anything i can look for to see if this is a good running car? Anything tips will help guys and i appreciate it alot! Help put me into another audi =D

Awesome. They are interested in my 97 civic. Is the valve cover gasket something that will be difficult to replace? That is the only Thing wrong with the Audi from what the guy says. He seems pretty straight forward

I'd be checking that the title is clean, especially as the seller lists hail damage. You can see the hood looks messed up from the hail, so make sure it isn't on a salvage title now. Also, see if you can find out if it has had any sludge problems or the oil pan dropped to fix a clogged oil pick up.

Try too, to find out what modifications the seller has made. He or she is clearly into modding, based upon what he or she is looking to trade for, so make sure anything that's been done has been done properly.

rebuild titles mean nothing to me. at least they are being honest. its very easy to have a car that should need a rebuild title but doesnt. like my dumbass buddy. he bought a dodge durango for $2000. he jumped it. yes jumped it. on purpose. bent the frame. straightened it out and sold it for $2000. as long as that car is in good mechanical condition it seem decent to me. and the valve cover gasket for a complete noob should take a few hours to do. you techniaclly should replace the cam chain tensioner gasket at the same time, but thats much more involved
