The O2 sensor delete will code out the rear O2 sensor(s) so that you can pass inspection more easily (I won't pass inspection unless I replace mine..again). The O2 sensor delete will cost "around $200." The guy I spoke with said they would need my payment, then receive my ECU, and once they have it they would be able to determine if they can delete the O2 sensor out of the computer. He would not provide me confirmation over the phone.

Probably also helpful if you dont have cats. Damn so they only accept checks? Thats a pain. Im curious though what other kinds of options can you add in besides 02 sensors? So im guessing were supposed to ship a check to them with our Ecu?

They need 10 payments to clear first, establishing the group buy; then you can send in your ECU in (as I understood it)

^ this. The 02 sensor code out (from what I know) and its also explained earlier in this thread from others who are more knowledgeable, is because the tolerances on the secondary o2's are very close. Once they start to go or once they read measurements (which are safely in the norm) will throw a MIL and it's a known problem addressed by Audi. We originally asked speed tuning to widen the tolerances and they said it would just be easier to code them out in the tune. This is not normally included in the tune, hence the higher price.

Also I sympathize with everyone's gripe about only taking checks. I wasn't aware of this, and agree its a little odd and a bit of a setback. But a check should arrive within a day or two anyhow so let's bear with it and keep on keepin on.

So then the check can't be shipped with the ECU I'm guessing since the price includes shipping both ways?

the price includes return shipping. just like buying any other part on the internet. shipping the ecu to them is on your budget. it all depends on how fast you want the ecu to get to them. and mailing the check just requires an envelope and a stamp.

You probably would want to send the check separate. Checks can take a couple days to clear. I'm assuming they only want a check so theres no way for someone to take their payment back like you can with a credit card or PayPal. It's a pain and it's also worrying.

my thoughts exactly

living legend, mind asking why they only take checks? paypal can happen in minutes and overnighting the ecu you would probably have it back in2-3 days. this adds a few days to the whole shebang. Also, what happens if i want my money back?

Honestly I'm not really sure I'm a little confused about it too. I'll ask them about it and see if maybe we can get PayPal going or something
