Today I tested the plug wires - all are good. Also the plugs are not that old and they are NGK not some cheaper brand.

I did notice something today. when I turn the ignition (key) to the on position just before starting the car I can watch the speedometer and depending on what I see I now know if I continue if it will work or not. So If I turn it and I see it will I continue quickly and it works if I do not I turn it off and then on again until I do. What I see is the needle move off of zero slightly. If it does it works and if it does not it won't (if I drive). So what does that mean? What signal is being transmitted to the speedometer and from where? Also if the speedometer does this and I start the car the the tach works {as does the speedometer) and if it does not neither does.

 

Did anyone ever find a resolution to this problem???
