I've been running ST since Dec '07 and have had zero issues. I hit 20psi in all gears, pulls hard. Did a friendly run with a K04'd 98 and stayed pretty even. For $125 I couldnt be happier. FWIW I've seen plenty of threads where people were having issues with APR, GIAC and Uni too. If I had time I'm sure I could dig up a ton of threads, just have jmgrande do it for you.

I'm not going to entertain any comments, the thread speaks for itself. You've been warned, so I don't want to see any more threads about how the ST chip doesn't work or how they have terrible customer service.

If someone wants to prove me and everyone else wrong, do a log and/or a dyno of your car before and after with your stock ECU and then ST chipped ECU.

I searched and have yet to find ANYONE who has had problems with a GIAC chip, and if you do find one, ask them if GIAC sorted out the issuses for them.

i dont know if you have read through this thread before you wrote this, but i went from 7psi to 20psi when i went to ST chip. i also went from getting spanked by my friend w/ GIAC to beating him sometimes / staying dead even with him every time....

I NEVER had a problem... you dont realise how many people DONT do a proper boost leak test and DONT have a boost gauge either.

All im saying is I for one had ZERO issues with my ST chip. I had a 2000 a4 with exhaust. thats it. and i absolutely loved it.

The one problem with user reviews is many users don't have the know how to diagnose their own car. Just because 1 computer would boost and another wouldnt doesn't always mean its the computers fault either. Speedtunings tune is probably just less resilient to any problems your car might have. Either way for 2.8 guys I've heard nothing but good. Hiwords has it and loves it.

I would love to get in on the buy, what is the realistic turn around time? How will it perform on a 99 1.8 with 90,000 miles on it?

I'm not sure on turn around time. I would hope no more then 24 hours to do the tune and the rest shipping. He claims 24 hours turn around though.

So far I've recieved info from:

mtroxel
airguard
FNK
revbjeff
santorianA4
anmagro
tjasielski
jt's A4
insomniac
silverstreak98

Again if you want me to put you down PM me with: Name, year (including half years just in case), model, engine w/ engine code, manual, tip, auto, phone number, email, and address. I still need a few of those items from couple guys on the list.

FWIW I'm in Denver and turn around time for me was 3 days. Sent out on a Sat, had it back Tues morning.
