I think I got a spare ECU from a quattro for my fwd from the junk yard when I was getting chipped, I think as long as the ecu numbers match it should work.

HMM just called speedtuning and said they are different files for auto and manual, he would switch em for $100 + shipping... I think i will just go giac

Why pay $175 plus all this shipping when i can get a giac down the street for $300 and and have the ability of different programs? And im not sure if the ST chip is perfectly good

I have not driven a car with any other chip, but there's no doubt about ST. I finally got mine to work perfectly after having a boost issue which turned out to be a malfunctioning maf sensor. I spike 21 psi and hold 20 or ~17,18 psi depending on the gear i am in, so this chip is no joke or some cheap pos.

I have GIAC on the 2000 and ST on the 97. Granted one is tip/fwd and the other is manual/awd. But there is hardly a difference @ the butt dyno. Both peak at about 18psi. GIAC is more tourquey down low but falls off hard up top. The 97 is smoother down low and steadily pulls all the way to redline. GIAC is great but not worth the extra cost imo.
