Squealing wheels?

Squealing wheels?
My 1.8t makes a squealing sound after around 40km/h.
It goes away when I turn, when I apply the brakes and when I apply the handbrake a little.
I jacked the car up and the rear wheels are a bit hard to turn with the handbrake all the way off. I can kind of turn them but as soon as I stop using force they stop. The front wheels are easier to turn.
Any help on what the hell is going on? This sound is killing me.
Thank you.

RE: Squealing wheels?
Sounds like it's brake related... have you pulled the wheels and checked the brakes? you might justdo a routine brake inspection/lube.
If it wereme,I'd pull the calipers and check the pads, dust boots, and slides and make sure the slides are greased and the dust caps are still in place. putsome squeal stop on the back of the pads and reassemble everything.
it should stop the problem OR uncover the problem while you're in there. Hope it helps.
