Default stabilizer mount

is there a tutorial on how to replace or fix my stabilizer mount. I was told that mine is about falling off and I was wondering if this is a simple fix. I was quoted $175 for the job. but f i could do it, it would be nice to save the cash

Are you referring to the stabilizer bar mount (sway bar mount)? Front or rear? Do you have after market sway bars?

so I am guessing that if they are estimating $175, then they are probably replacing the mount? how will i know if the mount needs replacing or if it just needs bolting back together?

well the mount is just a like a half circle thing with 2 things sticking out on each side for bolts. take a look and you'll see.

Your bushings are probably shot. It's a quick job and worn bushings are relatively inexpensive to replace. If the mount is broken because you nailed a rock or something, then likely yes, they are replacing the mount and the bushing.

The bushings wear out from regular driving, but we still aren't sure exactly what's wrong with your car. Can you post a pic?

I will try to jack it up after school in the short time that I have befor work. I will snap a pic of both mounts as I am not completely sure which side it is on. Will I be able to tell if it is just the bushings that have gone bad without removing the mounts? Also, I hear a ratteling coming from I think the front right of the car. I am guessing that this is the mount ratteling around. Admitently, I probably do sometimes take corners a bit faster than I should with the stock sway bars.Hopefully my old crappy jack wont fail on me this time.
