the "C" bars are the sway bar uplinks, the rubber bushings do wear out after a decade of use. you will have to replace them if they are bad. its about $50 for a pair. i got mine off ebay, theres a few places that also sell them.

I was looking at ecs tuning. I will eventually get a new sway bar for both, front and back. when I order the sway bars, do they usually come with mounts and uplinks?

they come with two brackets and bushings that hold the bar on. i dont know of any sway bars that come with uplinks, they are not terribly cheap so usually arent included.

Crank them until the snap, then back them off a bit.

No, not really, just kidding. I'm not sure of the torque spec, but a standard hand wrench or ratchet should be fine. They are probably 20-25 Ft-lbs. They don't need to be crazy tight, but tight enough not to knock or come loose.

don't both with changing the sway bar, it hardly gets any action. just handtightening it with a ratchet is good enough, the bolts aren't that big so don't overtighten too much. the clunk is usually a sign of the lower controls arms going out though

No one said there wasn't, but aftermarket sway bar kits do not usually come with endlinks. Hotckis H-sport sways, front and rear with the rear braces will really transform your handling. To me, it's the best single suspension modification for A4.

You'll also need PureMS metal rear endlinks to prevent CV boot death from the plastic endlinks snapping. Additionally, you can upgrade the front endlinks or use the stock ones. To upgrade, you'll need Perrin endlinks for the rear of the Subaru WRX to use on the front of your vehicle.

Hotckis sway bars, PureMS rear metal endlinks, and stock replacement front endlinks.

Perrin endlinks: use these to upgrade the front endlinks. They are considerably more expensive than the OE replacements, but they will give a tighter response. They are NOT necessary for a sway bar upgrade.

Found a good price on Perrin endlinks... I might have to buy them for myself now.

thanks for the info. I will probably get those Perrin endlinks. I wont be upgrading my swaybars for a while. I am waiting for my taxes to be returned and with that I am getting a revo chip, and either a samco DV or a Forge DV. but hopefully some time soon! Will i notice the difference with those Perrin endlinks and a stock sway bar?
