Starter Issues???
trying to figure out where to start. Before I get started the battery is brand new, 2-3 weeks old so i know it is fine. The issue is in the mornings, or on a cold start when I turn the key over I just get a click. I takes a few of these clicks before the starter engages and once it does no problems. After running for awhile it is more of an on and off problem. Sometimes it engages on the first turn of the key others it takes 2 or 3 times. I have noticed as the temps have been getting colder that the first start of the day takes 5-6 or sometimes 7 turns of the key before it engages. The question is where to start. I have had the ignition switch changed 2 years ago per the recall so it SHOULD be fine. Thought I would get some input. Thanks
:UPDATE:
Ok so the issuse seemed to get better over the past week or two and now it is back and getting worse. The odd thing is if I get in the passenger side seat and try sometimes it works better. As far as the ignition swithc I had it changed per the recall in 08...would 2 years be enough time for it to need a new replacement. If so that works as it is a hell of a lot cheaper than a new starter. As said before when I turn the key I hear the loud clank like the start tries to engage and after a few turns of the key ON and OFF it will eventually kick in...turn the engine over...and then start. Thanks for the help in advance.
