Unhappy starting problem please help

hey everyone, im new to this, and i love audis and glad to see alot off people too. usualy i would read other peoples problems but cant find this one, and asking for any help and will be apresheated a ton. heres the problem i just did a clutch swap on my 2000 audi a4 1.8t avan, the problem is that when i was putting everything back i exedently pinched the starter wire between the trany and the engine, so when i out all back not knowing the wire was pinched, i tried to strat the car, nothing happened and i got a puff off smoke from stearing wheel somewhere, so i turned it off and later found out the wire was there so i had to unbolt the trany took it out and put it all back.. so here is the problem it wont crank or anything, so please can anyone help me, begging here, i got no car to drive
