Stay away from this company!
I should have posted this a long time ago. Anyways, i wrecked my car towards the end of last year. With the ins. money I bought a gieger rs4 bump from lltek and a carbon fiber hood from KGS Engineering. Well there was no problem what so ever with the bumper. The hood on the other hand had a lot of spots the size of a dime all over it. I cant explain what they look like. There not noticable unless your right on top of it, so ican live with that. The problem was the alignment. The driver side front corner of the hood wasn't lined up and could not be adjusted so it would fit right. It sticks up about an higher than the fender. My friend is a body mechanic and i used to do body work myself so we know what were doing. There is no frame damage either. We adjusted and adjusted the hood and got it as close as we could. We even took the bumper stops (the pad blocksalong the inside of the fender) and put it on the low side of the hood. Well i called the company to see what they had to say and i emailed them pics. They told me there was nothing that they could suggest that i haven't already tried. Told me that they would not replace the hood thats just a risk you take when buying carbon fiber and told me that i should probably get hood pins to hold the corners down flush with the fender. Needless to say i was absolutely pissed off. Also have no clue what to do because i dont want hood pins on my car nor do i want the corner of my hood to be sittingan inch above my fender Oh...and i dont have the money to get a new one.So i figure i would just get on here and warn everyone else to stay away from them so you dont run into the same problem i did.
Good Luck!
Good Luck!
just put the stock hood back on
but if you are leaving the cf on there, hood pins are a good idea.. they probably didnt say it so it would line up better, but as more of a sefety precaution, i can not tell you how many times i've seen a hood latch pop up for no reason and smash the roof/windshield while driving
i've never heard of that company before, and i probably wouldnt have bought anything other then vorstiener or fiber images.
there is a cf hood forsale in the classifieds for $200

I would call the company and tell them that if they do not replace the hood with one that fits properly, that you will call the BBB and file a complaint. Just because it is made of Carbon Fiber does not mean it should have fitment issues. I would also complain about the spots as well because that aong with the fitmnet are two parts of the process that can be quality controlled and it sounds like the company is making excuses for poor craftsmanship.
Do not put hood pins on it until you are satisfied with the product, which it sounds like you are not. The company can use this as excuse to not refund or replace the hood since it has been altered. If you paid with a CC or debit card I would call your bank and have the charges reversed and expalin the circumstances. Then send the hood back and buy one from a reputable company like the ones mentioned above. I am on my second CF hood which is from Vorstiener, and my first was from Fiber Images both of which had no fitment issues.

WTF that's major bullshit. how are they going to say that it's the risk you take for buying a cf hood. i would def take affirmative action and tell them straight up that you will close down their company if they don't pay you back or send you one that fits. tell them that your brother works at the BBB or something lol
