Stereo Helpppp.
How do I get the rear speakers to play on a new headunit, I installed it old school no harness and everything works great but cant figure out the rear. I thought it was as simple as just plugging in the rca to the rear of the deck if any one could let me know what wires or even a thread that explains this. The stock unit is a non bose system, Any help will be great.
You pretty much need an adapter. The adapter will convert the wires from one of the connectors to RCA cables that you plug into the back of your HU.
I suppose you could buy RCA cables and splice them into the wires that they correspond to. If you have the old head unit there might be a wiring diagram on the back of it that you can use to figure out which wire to splice into which RCA cable.

My guess is that if you hooked it up "old school" style, you may have overlooked the amp turn on wire. The rear speakers are usually amped from the factory (amp built onto the speaker) and you probably have audio signal, but no turn-on. Hook that up and you should be good to go.
^what he said. Ran into this with an older car of mine. They make a very handy pigtail that plugs into the stock wiring harness and is labeled to ensure all the proper connections are made, would have been a good choice
