Default stuck in a cross road

ok so people my dilemma is this... i want to buy my audi back... most of u know the mods i already have on it... the guy wants 2000 for it back... hes fixed the fuel pump fuse thing and replaced 3 o2 sensors and the maf sensor.... but it still has low compression on 2 and 5 cylinder and the cv joints are bad still and someone broke into the car the other day

the other car i might buy is a 98 1.8t quattro (yes i know finally a quattro haha) 5 speed... the timing belt and water pump were replaced 10k ago and cylinder heads were rebuilt 80k ago... the passenger window reg is bad though other than that everything is good and they want 2500... its a bright red color though

if i did get the 1.8 what would your suggestions be on seeing what needs to be looked at for repairs... im coming from the 2.8 so im not sure what all differences there are... and mine was a fwd and this is a quattro... any info is appreciative

don't buy your old car

i would go for the 1.8t.... make sure the turbo is healthy, listen for bearings, might also want to look at the suspension.... check your seals/gaskets for leaks

if you have no way of getting it on a lift, might pay a euro shop to check it over and let you know the good, bad and ugly

2500, but how many miles? not that that really maters, and guessing that the head was built 80k ago i would say alot..... lol

its got less miles than mine did... its at 160 now is what the lady said... they bought it for their daughter a couple years ago and have had all services done at the audi dealership... but she left to college so they are selling the car for cheap

I'd buy the red one too. It sucks to sell an old car but I bet as soon as you started to drive the newer one you'd forget about the old one. Plus less miles and less problems are always good!!

I'd definitely buy the red 1.8T before your old car. What other options does the red one have?

yup 1.8t you get a turbo much more space in engine to work in and quattro for 500 more and 2 years newer and lower miles and alot of maintenance done and and and do it

compared to my old one... practially nothing... it has the standard stereo, no electric seats, no heated seats, they are cloth not leather, has the 4 spoke steering wheel, no sun roof... bout the only good it has going for it is its quattro and 5 speed lol and its a 1.8 which is better in the long run for me to have fun with it lol
