so no matter how hard i tighten the 4 nuts on the studs that hold my turbo on, they still come lose. every single day, i use every last ditch of strength to tightem them, check them the next day, lose again. i just tightened one so hard that i twisted one off into the turbo manifold. i have locking nuts and locking washers, i dont understand. its driving me crazy. any ideas?

use loctite?? or weld and tac it to hold it in place?

ive seen on different places loctite will melt and not work, and ive seen on others that it will be fine. welding is a bit extreme since i might have to take it off eventually. i was thinking about allen bolts

Try locking it with two nuts, one on top of the other, maybe?

Let me guess you have a ATP manifold. You can try some lock tabs that keep the nut from turning once you lock it in place. For lock tight you will need the highest temp you can find.

Use a dab of low or medium strength HIGH TEMPERATURE threadlocker if you need to. Do NOT use high strength or you are not getting those things back out.

You shouldn't need it, though. How are you tightening them? Are you doing it the correct way of tightening two nuts together on the stud and using the top nut to screw the stud in? That is how pretty much all studs requiring high torque are supposed to be installed, for the most part. Are you using lockwashers?

You can use bolts if you get the right kind, I suppose. Grade 12.9, I'd say. Don't screw around with anything less. That thing comes apart while you're driving and your car likely catches on fire.

the studs themselves arent coming out, i used vice grips to put them in. mike, where do i buy locking tabs or do i make them? i have red threadlock, but it says heat to 500 degrees to remove, my manifold gets way hotter than that. 034 has stainless studs and locking nuts, i might get those
