Default Suggestions Lowering my 2000 A4 1.8T

I am new to the Audi scene and recently purchased my 2000 A4 1.8T. Unfortunalty my knowledge is limited. I want to have Eibach springs installed for a 1.3" drop can anyone tell me if I also have to change the shocks? Also what size tires would fit with 18" rims with the Audi dropped 1.3". Thanks in advance for your help!!

You pretty much have to change the shocks as well.
If your car has the sport package you will be able to get some time ouf of the stock shocks with the Eibach springs, but they will eventually fail and you will need to have aftermarket shocks installed. Check out Koni's or Bilstein shocks.

just as well to do it all at once.

cheers

depends on what type of adjustable you get, and why exactly you want adjustable (how often you will be adjusting)

Koni Coilovers have total adjustability that do not require you to remove them from the car. Most other brands make you take them off to adjust the dampening rate.

i want to basicaly build a show car from the ground up and Ive always liked the looks of a dropped audi but i also live in the snow belt and i dont want to be plowing as i drive. I dont want the car to be a trailer queen, it will still be my daily driver so I like the versitlity of adjustability, especialy those i dont have to take out to adjust. Typically Im a body man (is my experience) so the mechanical aspect Im pickin up as I go. Ultimatly I am going to do a custom chop and turn my 2000 A4 into a chopped convertable with electrical retracting hardtop that folds into the trunk. Hoping to make somthing unique...anyhow thanks man for your help!!

You've filled your plate. Your aspirations are quite large and I will not question. However, do recognize that adjustable shocks/struts only adjust their action (rebound and such) and do not effect ride height in any way (unless they are air shocks, which in Audi's case, they are not).
