Default suspension question

I'm looking at some H+R lowering springs, but buying aftermarket sport shocks to match would really empty my wallet. Can I just buy the springs and leave stock struts on or will it burn them out too quick? I have a '96 2.8Q.

I strongly recommend doing both at the same time....

Honestly your fine. Im 7months on H&R racing springs. Drove in a non-lowerd audi, i thought rebound rate was bad on my car it was just my mind playing tricks on me. Bounced the same as mine over bumps with the same low pro tires.

Eventually ill get new shocks if i dont sell it for a S4

the springs are what do the lowering, it's just that if you put them on stock struts, it is bad.

it will reduce the life of the strut because it is constantly compressed more than it's supposed to be, because of the springs. but people say it isn't a big deal.

i just have the sport package so i don't know either way.

if you are on stock shocks the car will sit even lower then if you sit on the sport shocks, it is the springs that determine the ride height mainly but IMO because of different repound and stiffness stock shocks actually take the car a little lower then sport shocks.

IMO if you look at two cars on with H&R/Bilstein and one with H&R/stock and they both are race springs, I think the stock shocks sit lower and I like how it looks better

well since im a little strapped for cash right now, that may be the way to go and then change out the struts later when/if they burn out. do you guys have a picture of the racing struts vs. the stocks?
