Hiwords,
I just went thru the same thing with my old snow tires Dunlop Winter Sports.

They came on a set of factory 16" 7 spoke wheels and they were not good in snow at all and they acted like what VGO described.

Yesterday was the first day I tried my new Dunlop Graspic snow tires which do make some noise and work excelent up to about 40 mph.

I got them for a good deal so I'm not going to complain and the best snow tire I had was cheapo Powerkings snow tires from VIP but they stopped making them so the next set will be Pacemarks that are studable.

you may have been going a little too fast, or u need an alignment.. my car swayed on a snow covered road a few weeks ago and slid into a tree. mostly cause my tires are on their way out. i guess you should see if the alignment helps or get yourself some good snow tires

Since you said that your running the same tires I am leaning towards tie rods, poor front alignment or just needs a full alignment. I haven't driven mine on the highway in snow w/ the upper control arms fixed so I don't know it its gonna make a difference but mine did kind of wander above 50mph.

well the last set of tires i had, shown wear on the inner part of the tires...i really do think it could now just be bad alignment at the back and front. All tie rod ends and control arms were replaced 5 months ago.

and just for your info people...im from ontario, canada. We dont use miles here =)

Vgo,
All our cars have both MPH and KPH so if someone can't do the math or just glance at the speedo for the conversion then that's they're problem.
