I just bought my first audi about a week ago and finally had a day off of work to fix some problems with it. It's a 1999 audi 1.8t B5, and i went to put a tail light in it. It didn't have a tail light in when i bought it, and i don't know what type of light bulb i need for it

 

If you're talking about the upper bulb opening which is not circular, that's a slot for the rear fog light and is meant to be unused. The other taillight, driverside, has the bulb in place. You don't want both sides lit up because it will look like you're braking which will probably get you pulled over or will confuse other drivers.
