Default Taillight issues, please help >:(

I'm not good with electrical ****, I'll just start off with that;

So my drivers side running light (in the tail light) isn't working, the running light is the bottom bulb in the tail light holder, same bulb as the brake light.

But it lights up when I hit the brakes...?

Replacing the bulb was my first instinct, but obviously the old bulb was still good seeing as it still lights up when I hit the brakes, just the running light doesn't work.

I don't have insurance at the moment (irresponsible, I know), so getting this light to work is pretty urgent, it's only a matter of time before I get pulled over for it.

Any advice or knowledge always appreciated, thanks!

On another note, the drivers side corner light (amber blinker) doesn't work either.) Bulb is fine, I believe that harness is also bad, this car is really starting to **** me off.

Both of those bulbs are dual filament bulbs. One filament can burn out and leave the other functional. Change the bulbs.

Found a guy parting out his A4 so I guess I'm just going to cut the old harness out and solder a new one in and see what happens, doing the tail light harness and corner light harness for the amber blinker

I had this same problem...

The center contact in the housing was missing. I guess it broke off. I needed to get another light.

Hey dew, you know the bulb holder for the tail lights has a plug that connects it to the cars wiring.. no need to solder anything unless you wanted some practice.
