Default Temperature effects Power Steering??? noise problem

I've searched few topics about this incident already in this forum
came out with no result.
seems like people just added some power steering fluid to solve it
problem is that it maeks noise since yesterday night.
it was perfectly fine in that morning.
whenever i steer it makes ***** whaoring noise..
i have got my powering steering fluid swaped and changed at the dealership
about a month and a half ago.
so i dont know what the probelm can be ..
maybe its leaking? then why did it start mkaing noise when it got really cold
it was about 15 degrees F in NYC yesterday. (its doing it today too)
anyboyd with an idea?

thanks always

tony

Well, have you checked the fluid level?

Let's hope it's not the steering rack, because that is
expensive.

check your belt, too. A worn or loose belt will not spin teh pump properly, so that, when you steer it stresses teh system.

Also, COLD fluid will not pump adequately, which may explain your issue, partially. When I park in a garage I do not get this problem, but, when I park outside (most nights), and teh temp drops, I sometimes experience sluggish/noisy steering until the car warms up and/or I've driven a few miles.

I'm not sure what year your car is or if its under warranty, but mine ('02 A4) had the same issue and my power steering pump had to be replaced. It was all under the CPO warranty so not sure what it would cost you.

sorry about the late post up
so i went to the dealership to find out what the problem was
they simply told me to buy more fluid
so i purchased small bottled fluid for 13 dollars
filled it up and it worked after few mins. of driving
thanks for all your thoughts

by the way i went to the pepboys near my location
they told me for the audi steering fluid i have to goto the dealershi
they do not carry petosin 11 and they didn't want anything to do with the AUDI
i don't thats because i live in nyc and nobody gives a shiet about nobody

thanks again

My rack is making the buzzing noise, I just replaced some hoses and stopped all the leaks. I bled the system in attempt to get rid of the noise. but it makes this noise when the car is cold, and i dont mean 13degrees cold i mean like Los Angeles 80 degreees cold. It subsides as the car warms up. I have checked fluid levels, fixed leaks, nothing is leaking from anywhere or even oily anymore. I even took it the shop and it stopped making the noise for five min. I just cranked my stereo
