Default Test-fit time - wheels on the car:)

Wheels on the car pics

First off, I'd have just added this in yesterday's thread but it got a little off-track so I figured I'd just make a new one.

Well, Hiwords swung by my house today after work and we test-fitted two of the wheels. The fronts are about a hair's width away from the spindle so even if there's not going to be interference, I'm still going to put some thin spacers on. I need to get hubcentric rings (probably pick them up this week after work, tomorrow or Friday), and in the rear, it's pretty close but most likely doable. I will probably need longer wheel bolts though, as he noticed that hand-tight, the lugs are only about three turns in before they seat against the wheels. Anyone know offhand who sells longer wheel studs?

The front gap is almost perfect in my eyes - about a fingerwidth between fender and tire. The fenders are definitely going to get rolled - I'm not gonna start tearing chunks out of the tread. The rear gap is too much, but when I put the wheels on for the season, the coilovers will be adjusted to close it down to equal the front.

Anyway, on to the pics - my opinion is the wheels completely make the car. I love the look Only drawback is that my A8 front brakes no longer look big, and my rear brakes look like DVDs. They'll still look better once the calipers are cleaned up and repainted though.

Big thanks to Hiwords for bringing the big-boy camera with him - the resolution is far better than my iPhone can manage.

And one more pic from this afternoon, which I just thought was a really cool shot of our two cars:

WINNER! Man, I wasn't sure about these 19s. They usually are way too big looking on our cars, makes them look donked. But I dont know if its the small spokes or what, but these look rad!
