Their brakes are terrible. I replace them with NAPA parts once they completely fail and never have an issue.

My current A4 when through 3 wheel bearings before the 100,000 mile warranty ran out. They replaced the 4th for good measure on my last visit with 99,900 miles

They must had picked a bad supplier for that model. A friend of mine who had a 2000 A4 also had major problems with her wheel bearings. Since the replacement 4 years ago I havent had an issue with them yet 65,000 miles later.

98.5 1.8t 5speed sport package

We'll I've had my car for 6 months now.

Water pump went bad at 111,000 miles (It started leaking out the weep hole)

So For good measure I nipped it all in the butt before it could nip me

New Water pump,
New timing belt
New Thermostat
New Belts and hoses
Replaced the Green coolant the last owner used with G12

Cruise Control hasn't ever worked. (Havnt looked into it)
FogLights have never worked (Just bought Valeos so who cares)
Headlight washers Have never worked

Soon roof all the sudden doesn't want to close. It'll almost close, Click and open
all the way again. I have to PUSH Really HARD to close it.

My ABS light I guess is burnt out, Doesnt even come on when I unplugged
the ABS unit.... ABS Hasn't ever worked

My Brake Light is flashing 100% 24/7 since I bought the car....

The front end is Crackling like it's got arthritis...

Driver Axle boot tore open and I've replaced it... Just found out it's got another tear in it....

Bought it with 99,000 miles for 4300 and it's got 117,000 miles on her now.

I love the car though. I get compliments All the time.

But I love walking out and seeing this in my driveway

Good thread guys. At least I know what to expect. I can relate to the following at the moment:

- Running out of gas issue as well. Ranging between 180 and 240 miles for some reason.
- Sunroof is weird
- Middle LCD screen has a few lines only
- Cup Holder pops out, but it is broken
- wheel bearings
-coilpacks
-inside door handle on drive side is a bit loose
- no more keyless entry (need to reprogram at the dealer)

It saddens me that I was sooo proud that I didn't have some of the Other problems you guys have and do now

New problems:
LCD screen just started acting up(lines).
Wiper fluid won't stay full even after I just filled it. Don't know where the leak is.
CD changer reads NO DISC

Somehow I forget about all the problems and still enjoy driving my car.

Geez...I don't know where to start....

- Replaced ABS controller
- Replaced whole head, water pump, thermostat (due to timing belt snapping @ 94,xxx miles)
- Replaced ignition coils (multiple times)
- Replaced instrument cluster (due to check engine light LCD malfunction, won't pass CA. smog without light working properly)
- Replaced Alternator
- Replaced Axles
- Rear passenger window regulator broke
- CD Changer don't work
- When you arm the alarm, no beep or nothing telling me that the doors are locked. Panic button on remote works, lights start flashing, but no horn going crazy sound, just silence! What a great anti-theft system!
- Now my current problems....Oil cooler!....Front wheel bearings and paper thin clutch!!!! yay!

2.8Luv, I have had every problem you just wrote. You can get the LCD screen repaired by an electronics repair specialist for around $250-$300 Only the screen itself usually needs replacing, don't let anyone talk you into replacing the whole cluster. Also make sure they don't replace it with one of those cheap Chinese LCD screens. The wiper fluid leak is probably one the pumps for the hoses. My headlight washer pump (the one on the bottom of the tank) was cracked all the way down the side resulting in a very hard to find leak. My radio says NO DISK or ERROR every now and then even when I have a disk in there. I don't have a cd changer though. Haven't figured this one out yet.

audipower, I have the same problem with my alarm, no solution yet. You did check to make sure the oil filter wasn't loose, right? I know some people on here have leaky oil coolers (it's what the filter threads onto).

Just had my front left wheel bearing changed, now I think my right rear one is going out. Not a job I'd want to do myself. I'm not incompetent, just lazy. I think I may have effed up one of my control arms in an accident, still need to have it looked at by a pro. Just replaced my timing belt, water pump, and serpentine belts a couple months ago, tedious and a little scary, but not difficult with the right tools and instructions.
