Default Thinking about s4 swap.

My 1996 A4 has a major oil leak, I have wanted to swap it since i bought it, what are the pros and cons of this idea. i have found a 2001 s4 motor, 6mt, and the rest of the complete swap. Meaning the turbos, ecu, harness all of that. Is this really worth it?

Eh, do it. It's not that big of a price difference between the car and motor setup. Sometimes you have to lay down serious cash just because it feels right.

The add says "engine complete from the oil pan to the intake manifold, turbos, inter-coolers, alternator, starter, power steering pump, A/C compresser, wiring harness, ECU, air flow meter, all attached sensors and brackets, 6mt transmission complete w/ used clutch, shift levers and slave cylinder.. " and also comes with a 90 day warranty anything else i would need?

the custom bracket making will cost you the most. unless you know how. otherwise, it pretty doable if you are good with electronics

with the $ and time you invest in it you'd be close to buying an S4 altogether, and then who knows how long the S4 engine and components will last. Not to mention the S4 will still have more creature comforts and your conversion will never have the same out-of-the-factory finish. something will always go wrong
