I have never seen an s4 in good shape for 5,000 (2,000 was the car,and the swap is 3,000)

is your 96 manual or auto? ive already thought about this many times... thats why im buying an S4 in april, when i graduate College :P

True, but you're far from reality if you think that the car and general parts will do the trick. I could go into detail but i dont got time. the idea of a cheap S4 transplant is a pile of epic fail.

the funny thing is i just bought that motor on ebay today n i was looking for questions on how and if its hard to install on my 98 audi a4 2.8

im trying to learn more about the swap myself i heard its not bad n if u have the 2.8 30v everything will just bolt into place

if you take the money that you spent on buying your A4, plus what it will cost to do the transplant correctly, it will be cheaper to buy an already running S4. sure you spent $3k on an engine. now your going to spend another 5k putting it in. maybe more after all is said and done. double that number if your not doing the work yourself.

if u have the 2.8 30v everything will just bolt into place
that is completely incorrect, they are completely different engines.
