i like the look of the is300 but i look at it like this:

toyota < VW

toyota + more expensive parts = lexus

VW + awesomeness (and some expensive parts) = audi

hmmm...

keep the audi

actually lexus is just a counter part of toyota and the parts are almost the same as toyota parts, i looked into getting an older is300 and the mechanic said it made much more sence money wise due to the repairs and maintness. The parts are cheaper and its an easier car to fix than a Audi, thats what he said. im not sure on his opinion, but it was interesting to hear.

Lexus parts are (if not) cheaper than Audi parts.

Like said, Lexus is orginally an upgraded Toyota which they have turned into a luxury version (which I'm sure the dealership takes advantage of when it comes to prices for parts). After all, this Lexus IS we're talking about it a Toyota Altezza in Asia and Europe.

Do as you wish but there will definately be a difference between the Audi and Lexus as these 2 are different companies which make totally different cars.

Good luck deciding!

well considering its a Japaneses car it will LAST FOREVER. i love my audi but come on guys the maintenance on these things are ridiculous and the cost of parts is outrageous! audis are quality cars if they are well taken car of, if not they turn to crap in a matter of a few days. now a toyota or a nissan, you could buy the most beat up one you could find with 250k miles on it, drop a couple hundred dollars into it and you'd get another 200k miles out of it. the body would fall apart before the engine.

^yeah if it is properly maintained. my dad had a 4 runner with 280k miles on it. he actually sold it for 4k and the dude flue from texas to pick it up and drive it home.

i have an audi and a nissan maxima and i love them both. i didnt want to sell my altima when i got the maxima but the insurance was to much so now my audi is my dd.
